GREEN BUILDING CERTIFICATIONS
We believe that green building is the larger philosophy of developing buildings that are economically, socially and ecologically sustainable. Green building is more than a trend, and we believe that “green building” represents a fundamental shift in awareness with regard to high-performance buildings — both in the commercial and residential sectors. Since 2001 our firm has specialized in the design, engineering, and certification of energy-efficient high-performance buildings.
Green building certifications: LEED, NGBS, Energy Star, FGBC, Green Globes.
We help our clients develop customized livibility solutions for cost effective implementation of sustainable development and green building, resulting in nationally recognized Green Building Certifications.
We are a LEED provider through USGBC.
BLOWER DOOR TESTING
Blower door testing and certification is required for CO per Florida Building Code for all residential structures of 3 stories or less.
ENERGY TAX CREDITS AND TAX DEDUCTIONS
A tax credit of $2,000 per qualified unit, i.e., if you build 5 houses and they qualify= 5x $2,000=$10,000, if you build a 20 unit building (under 4 stories) 20 x $2,000 = $40,000.
A tax deduction for residential buildings over 4 stories or commercial buildings for qualifying systems (lighting, HVAC, etc) calculated at cents per dollar.
QUALITY CONTROL AUDIT SERVICES
E3 Building Sciences offers third-party quality control services to help builders through various formats including inspections and training or customizing a program to fit specific needs. Services provided for building envelope water intrusion, insulation/duct/hvac installation as a system, shower installations, and other custom audits as needed by the client. We can help build a better building through all phases of construction.
Third party quality control audit services may yield benefits through risk management insurance policies for production builders, contractors, subcontractors and developers.
ENERGY AUDITS
For existing buildings requireing level 1, 2, or 3 audits to optimize energy and water consumption, setup budgets and improvement plans for the longevity and health of the building.
ENERGY STAR PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
E3 Building Sciences provides audit, training, and system setup for energy tracking by the client.
HOME ENERGY RATING SYSTEM
The Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Index is the industry standard by which a building’s energy efficiency is measured. It’s also the nationally recognized system for inspecting and calculating a building’s energy performance
We offer this service that measures the level of efficiency of the building, like MPG in cars.
ENERGY MODELING
Analysis of the energy components of buildig design targeting the best scenarios for the efficiency of the building and necessary for adequate functioning of the building for energy efficiency and indoor air quality. Our state-of-the-art software application has one central integrated data model; saving time and facilitating the integrated approach with visualization tools and results with high level detail.
SUSTAINABLE SITE SOLUTIONS

BUILDING COMMISSIONING
The professional practice that ensures buildings are delivered according to the Owner’s Project requirements (ORP) with energy components of the building installed and performing as designed.
Buildings that are properly commissioned typically have fewer change orders, tend to be more energy-efficient, and have lower operation and maintenance costs.
